  • In the U.S.A. diseases took the lives of many people and were common.
  • During the american civil war diseases were a huge problem for both sides because of the death they caused.
  • It was very important towards the outcome of the war due to 1/3 of soldiers that died was by  disease.
  • Both typhoid and dysentery are water borne illnesses.
  • Diseases both helped and hurt our nation by weakening  the confederacy and the  union.
  • The reason diseases spread so well was because of the cramped conditions of the soldiers.
