An officer sees the commotion and tells the citizens to get ready to fight.They are going to fight both the Montagues and Capulets.
Act 1 Scene 1 Verona A Public Place
"Throw your mistempered weapons to the ground..."
The Capulet house hears the commotion outside and Lord Capulet is going outside to fight Lord Montague. The whole house of Capulets are going to fight the Montagues.
"Who set this ancient quarrel abroach? Speak, nephew, were you by when it began?"
The same happens with the Montague house they hear what is happening outside in the streets and decide to go outside to fight. The Ladies of both housesare trying to stop the Lords since they are old and are acting crazy.
The prince heads to the streets of Verona after hearing all of the commotion. He is angry as soon as he sees what is happening. He threatens both Capulets and Montagues that if that is to happen again their lives are going to pay for it.
