  • Spoils System 
  • Kitchen Cabinet
  • The nullification crisis of 1828-1833
  • Andrew Jackson fired all of his existing federal employs and replaced them with all of his supporters that weren't qualified to be in the spot.  
  • Indian Removal Act and The Trail of Tears 
  • Jackson took advice from friends and unqualified sources.   So people called his advisors the kitchen cabinet because they were perceived as being inadequate.   
  • Jackson as the “People’s President”
  • South Carolina threats to leave/secede from the united states because of a new tax that angered them. So South Carolina passed a law to cancel the new tax.  So Jackson passed the force bill to use federal troops to enforce the law. . 
  • The Bank wars 
  • The congress pressured tribes to give up there existing lands and move to the designated spot witch congress made Oklahoma Indian territory.  In 1837,  President Martin Van Buren Oversaw the removal, of over 16,000 natives west and over 1/4 of the people that moved died of starvation, exposure, or disease. 
  • In the election of 1828, Andrew Jackson was elected by the common people because he removes land restrictions so more people can vote. His election was the expansion of voting rights. The idea of this was that the average person has control to control Democracy changed American politics forever.
  • Jacksons last battle was to remove the second bank of America, he believed that it was unconstitutional even though the court case Muculloch VS Maryland had found it constitutional.  In Jackson's second term he began to say to remove all money from the National Banks causing the banks to end for good.
