Charlie isn't normal like other people emotionaly so scientist help him by doing surgeries to try and help him with his problems and his intelligence so he can be like other people. for example that he isn't normal in the first progress report"Dr.Strauss says I shud rite down what I think and evrey thing that happins to me from now on (672) as you can see that his spelling isn't right at all.
The scientist do the the surgery on charlie to improve his intelligence and he doesn't relize that their using him he thinks its a good thing."their going to use me! Im so exited I can hardly wait" (675).
The climax of the story is when Charlie gets the surgery to become smarter which fails with consequences."nothing is happening....I got a headache from trying to think so much. I thot Dr Strauss was my frend but he don't help me"(678). This shows that the operation didn't work and him getting a headache is the consequences.
The falling action is when algernon starts to die this is the falling action because he thinks his brain will do the same thing as Algernon's and he doesn't want that to happen. "Dissection shows that my predictions were right. His brain had decreased in weight and there was a general smoothing out of cerebral convolution as well as a depending and broadening of the brain fissures. I guess the same same thing is or will be happening to me (706).
The resolution is that Charlie knows that he can't help what's happening to his brain and he's forgetting what he learned a few days before ."Now my mind is deteriorating rapidly...Im forgetting things that I learned recently." (707).
I believe that the theme of the story is to leave people alone and let them live their life because charlie wasn't aware of what would happen to him until it happened so in a way the scientist ruined his life but in another way they made it better because he's smarter.
