Arrival at Roanoke
Colony from August to October
After John white leaves...
The colonists set sail on April ,26,1587. They traveled all the way from Portsmouth, England to the New World. Their goal was to create a new colony by Chesapeake Bay.
The colonists ran out of food and supplies and they had to go back to England to get more supplies. They needed to get more supplies because their were lots of people.
I believe that they colonists probably traveled to Croatoan Island because their were no signs of any natural disasters. They probably traveled to find more food or to get more land. They carved "CROATOAN" on the tree and that is what they were supposed to do if they were leaving.
