In a bid to end the chaos, Richard II decides to meet Wat Tyler at Mile End. Richard agrees to Tyler's demands and grants the peasants freedom.
After Tyler received the King's charter, most of the peasants start to leave.

An armed group of peasants enter the Tower of London. They find and kill The Archbishop of Canterbury, the King's Treasurer, and another senior officer.
Richard II sends a message to Wat Tyler for a further meeting. Tyler and his men meet at Smithfield, and make more demands towards the king.
The mayor of London gets into an argument with Wat Tyler. The mayor stabs him along with guards.
