  • The King makes a law that says peasants can only earn a certain amount of money per day and they have to work for the same lord. This is the statute of Labourers.
  • The Peasants Revolt
  • The king makes a new tax because of the wars in France. The tax is 5p, to everyone, no matter what your income. The peasants are outraged. They have no freedom and no money.
  • The riots

  • Wat Tyler is made leader of the Rebels!
  • John Of Gaunt
  • Led by Wat Tyler,Local priests, Reeves, small landowners and peasants march through Kent and Suffolk towards London. Word of the revolt quickly spreads throughout the Southeast.
  • Around 30,000 peasants following Wat Tyler arrive outside the city of London. Riots are taking place elsewhere.
  • One entrance to London is opened by a supporter of the Rebels. Many of them them now enter the city. John of gaunt, a UK military leader's house, is set on fire.
