When the Corn Goddess left, there was a storm that destroyed the harvest so that all the corn was gone and there was no seed for the next year. Hunters tried to hunt but food was scarce so people were starving.
Gosadaya was determined to follow his wife’s directions toward the Sky World. He found her and they had a joyous reunion. They spent a year together before Gosadaya had to return to the village and since his wife was still not allowed to return, she gave him a few handfuls of corn to take home and plant.
When Gosadaya returned, the people were happy that they had corn again so they prayed diligently to the Corn Goddess and Great Spirit to help it grow. They continue to pray and offer rites to the deities and the corn continued to grow
After some time, Gosadaya became very lonely and decided to join his wife.
