Jimmy's Big Plastic Mistake
By: Drew Linnihan Period 510/29/19
Darn, I missed the recycling bin! Someone will pick it up.
Little does Jimmy know, that this bottle could end up in the ocean because he didn't recycle (reusing material).
Jimmy bought and used this plastic bottle because it was very convenient and easy to carry around just like most plastics.
Soon, this bottle could be collected by runoff (water that is draining away) and put in the ocean.
This is an example of nonpoint source pollution because the bottle is being moved by runoff.
Jimmy's water bottle is slowly being moved down the street toward the shore because of runoff.
Jimmy's bottle arrives to the shore where piles of trash are building up.
Jimmy's bottle is floating out to sea, which is a type of water pollution because it could harm animals.
