- Jimmy's Big Plastic Mistake

- Darn, I missed the recycling bin! Someone will pick it up.
- Little does Jimmy know, that this bottle could end up in the ocean because he didn't recycle (reusing material).
- Jimmy bought and used this plastic bottle because it was very convenient and easy to carry around just like most plastics.
- Soon, this bottle could be collected by runoff (water that is draining away) and put in the ocean.
- This is an example of nonpoint source pollution because the bottle is being moved by runoff.
- Jimmy's water bottle is slowly being moved down the street toward the shore because of runoff.
- Jimmy's bottle arrives to the shore where piles of trash are building up.
- Jimmy's bottle is floating out to sea, which is a type of water pollution because it could harm animals.
