  • At the beginning, Romeo begins to tell the audience of Balthazars upcoming news.
  • "News from Verona! How nom Balthazar? Dost thou bring me letters from the Friar? How doth my lady? (5.1.#13-15)
  • At this point, Balthazar arrives with news, and his letters. He also tells Romeo about Juliet's "tragic death."
  • "Is it e'en so?- Then I deny you stars! Thou knowest my lodging. Get me ink and paper, and hire post-horses. I will hence tonight." (5.1.#25-27)
  • "Her body sleeps in Capel's monument. And her immortal part with angels lives." (5.1.#19-20)
  • 'Come hither, man. I see that thou art poor." [Offers Money] Hold, there is forty ducats. Let me have a dram of poison....taker my fallen death. (5.1.#62-65)
  • Romeo enters the Apothecary's shop, and asks for a potion that will allow him "to join in Juliets death."
  • "Who calls so loud?" (5.1.#61)
  • At this point, the apothecary does not feel that it is the best idea to give Romeo the potion, but does so anyway.
  • I pay the poverty and not thy will. (5.1.#80) There is thy gold (5.1.#84), farewell, buy food, and get thyself in flesh. (5.1.#89)
  • Such mortal drugs I have, but Mantua's law is death to any he that utters them. (5.1.#70-71)
  • "Lets go Romeo!!"
  • Romeo then sets off to Juliet's "grave."
