I keep hearing sounds of something moving about in the passage outside.
I picked this scene as the best haunting clue scene because the door was supposed to be locked, and when Meagle knocked on the door, it was almost as if someone opened the door for him. I decided to do this scene from the Toll House because the land owner said that the door was locked and that they would have to go through a window. If the door was open before, the land owner would'e told them to just use the door.
He didn't wake up?
I decided to do this scene as one of the best haunting clues because of the fact that the candle blew out before hitting Meagle's head. I decided to do the candle scene because of the way the candle blew out before falling. That to me is a haunting clue because the candle would blow out from the wind as it fell. It seems odd that the candle blew out before it fell.
My god Barnes is that you?
I chose this scene from the Toll House as one of the best haunting clues because of the fact that everyone was upstairs and Barnes heard footsteps downstairs. If not them, who other than a trespasser or a ghost could've made the noise downstairs.
Chase to the End of the World
I chose this as one of the haunting clues because even if White was asleep, he should've woken up due to Meagle burning his thumb with the candle. I think that this is one of the best haunting clues because even I would've woken up if someone burned my finger, I would've woken up in pain.
Barnes could have been possessed by the spectre that lived in the house. When Meagle asked if the figure was Barnes and it was, maybe Barnes didn't say anything because it wasn't him in his body right now. I chose this scene as one of the haunting clues because if everyone in the house but Barnes and Meagle was asleep, and the figure wasn't Barnes, who else could it be but a ghost.
Meagle said that he felt as if he slipped of the Earth after being chased by the figure that could or couldn't have been Barnes. At the end of the story, Barnes didn't know how he got next to the broken balusters, which makes me think that Barnes pushed Meagle into the whole while he was possessed by the ghost.
