  • Hey guys, I am reporter Alice Gray and today we are going update you on the status of the Coronavirus. On the other line we have our field journalist who will be covering ways on how you can avoid this epidemic.
  • Hello ! Im journalist Ryan Stonewall and we are going to cover some symptoms of the virus and give you some tips on how you can protect yourself.
  • To recap what has been going on, the Coronavirus is said to be a disease that emerged in China around December 2019. It is highly contagious and spreads due to droplets released in the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Scientists hypothesize that the start of this threat began with the marketing of bats in China's Huanan seafood market.
  • As implied by Alice this disease is very much a serious situation and not like any aliments we have faced before. Compared to the illnesses we had in the past like influenza and malaria, Corona is the first we have seen to effect areas worldwide at such a massive rate. From what we know so far, there is no recorded vaccine for this disease at the moment.
  • With that being said, we recommend staying at home as much as possible and avoiding close contact with others. Stay 6 ft away from each other when leaving your home and refrain from touching contaminated surfaces or touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.
  • In case you feel you might have contracted this disease, some symptoms include fever, tiredness, dry cough, and trouble breathing. People with mild symptoms are required to self- quarantine for 14 days.
