THE EXECUTION OF THE KING
This storyboard does not have a description.
Hmm. I think I should escape from France before the subjects slay me.
Oh my god! The king is trying to escape! We must not let that happen.
NOOOOOO! I do not want to die.
A major event of the French Revolution was the execution of the king. The French National Convention interrupted King Louis XVI’s furtive plan to escape France with his wife, Marie Antoinette, and instead, charged him with treason and led him to the guillotine. In the case of the French, due to their incentive to establish a democracy, killing King Louis XVI furthered their goals towards a democracy because they removed the blockade ruled and could replace him with an elected ruler or a proper form of representation. In general, killing a leader does not necessarily lead to democracy, however, it did in the case of the French.
