Chicken pox virus enters through mouth and nose and travels around the body through the respiratory tract.
Barriers to the virus are: mucous membranes, saliva, coughing, sneezing, and nose hairs, and a fever develops in response to slow the attack of the pathogen.
The Innate defense are the mechanisms you are born with (cytokines/leukocytes) and adaptive defenses are acquired immunity (lymphocytes/antibodies)
Adaptive system remembers and sends signals to the innate system to attack!
Memory T cells give long term immunity.
