- Why is he screaming?
- He gathered all of the rice he was dropping because he needed a trail to show where he had been to find his way back. If he didn't use that trail he would have been lost and not been able to find his way back.
- The Request
- I have a task for you. It's a long dangerous journey, can you do it for me?
- The Emissary came to see which vase was the best. Min didn't want the Emissary to see his vase because the kiln messed it up.
- The Falling Flowers

- Tree-ear was scared when he saw the fox. He thought the fox was bad but nothing happened.

- Min wanted Tree-ear to travel to Songdo so he can show the Emissary the vases that turned out just the way he wanted. Tree-ear knew it was a long and dangerous journey but he still said yes.

- The falling flowers are the girls who jumped off a cliff when an army came. None of the boys jumped it was only the girls.

- Tree-ear was thinking about jumping off the cliff. He was thinking about jumping because he was thinking of the story Min told him that was called "The falling flowers."
