I left Lachine to become a voyageur and work for the fur trade in Montreal, Canada. All I had to do was sign a contract.
I left a donation at St. Annes and now I'm paddling with my brigade to the unknown. I have blisters and caluses on my hands from paddling to no where! I'm very homesick after leaving Lachine and my family behind.
It was difficult for our brigade to get up the rapids! Finding a portage is also super difficult, but we found one finally! It helps us with the obstacles, and where the water flows super fast! Its even harder to get up the rapids with heavy loads!

After paddling across the whole Lake Superior, Pierres hands were filled with blisters! It was a very long trip across Lake Superior, the choppy water made is pretty difficult! Pierres hand couldn't handle the pain, but he made his way across! I stayed mostly in the middle of the lake even though it was pretty risky!
We all made it to Rendezvous! It took weeks for us to get here! We all celebrate by getting a break. No matter the struggle, it was fun. We all got to see the trading post! It was way different from what I imagined! It was far away but it felt amazing to know that we made it!
I made it back to Lachine to see everyone in the town. When I got back to see everyone, I heard the sound of someone chopping wood, and that was my father. When I got to my house, my dog, pepper came running toward me. And I saw the smile on my fathers face. He was very proud of me, I just knew it! I'm going back next spring because that was a lot of fun.
