The theme of 90 Miles to Havana is that sometimes, you have to let the ones you love go.
In pages 46-57, the event tells you that Julian and his brothers are getting sent away, because of a neighbor that was going to send them away, so the mom sent away the kids first. This is evidence, because in this situation, Julian doesn't know what to do, but he knows that everything will be okay.
