The Spanish conquest of the Aztecs began in 1519, in the Valley of Mexico (The Aztec Empire) by Herman Cortez
Before they were conquested, the Aztec Empire consisted of a nomadic group who rose to be a powerful force in the world, until conquered
The Spanish conquered the Aztecs in order to bring Mexico under their control. They made it a major economic and trade post in order to help their countries economy and maintain power in the Americas
The interaction between the Aztecs and the Spanish did not go well. The Spanish massacred all of the Aztec Nobles then killed all the other people. They were able to due this because of advanced weaponry and large armies
I think that the Spanish believed they were helping their country and getting in the good graces of their king and queen while the Aztecs were afraid because they were getting conquered after establishing themselves as a main power in the world
The Spanish set up the Aztec Empire as a trading post between Spain and the Americas as well as an economical backing to keep their country wealthy
