If I listen closely, maybe I can hear what they're saying..
WAR... BLAH BLAH...
Native Americans in the War
Africans in the War
The colonies also promised freedom..
The British promised we would be freed if we joined them..
Women had a big role in the revolution. Many women, like the one in the picture, eavesdropped on the conversations of their husbands/ employers and use the information their advantage.
Foreign-Born Heroes of the Revolution
Although most natives decided to help the British, there was still much conflict between opposing sides. Tribes like Shawnee, Creek, Cherokee, and most Iroquois didn't get along with tribes like Lenape and Catawba.
Espionage / Intelligence Gathering
African Americans in the revolution were in a difficult situation because they had to choose which side to fight for. Both nations promised many things in return for their service, but the Africans had to pick who they believed would keep the promises.
Weapons / Tactics / Military Life
Foreign born heroes, like Baron Von Steuben shown in the picture, were a big help in the revolutionary war. Baron Von Steuben helped American soldiers at Valley Forge become much better at fighting.
Espionage and spying helped opposing nations keep important secrets from each other. A popular type of spy method was invisible ink, which could only be read by using special tools.
We can use invisible ink so the other side won't be able to read it..
This picture shows linear tactics, a battle strategy used at Valley Forge, and Trenton and Princeton. Soldiers positioned themselves in a line facing their opponent. This increased the chance of a bullet hitting someone.
