  • The Battle of Brooklyn
  • Fire!!!!!!!!!
  • Trenton and Princeton
  • OMG! Did you hear? The Hessians surrendered at Trenton!!!!
  • No! OMG! That's just marvelous, dear! Marvelous!
  • The Battle of Saratoga
  • After this battle, the British gained control of the Hudson river. The British greatly outnumbered the Americans but just barely pulled through with a victory. The battle showed both sides that the Revolutionary War was going to be hard to win and greatly tolling on their countries (or colonies).
  • Winter at Valley Forge
  • At the Battle of Trenton the Americans ended up getting a victory against the Hessians that boosted morale and got soldiers to reenlist. But their luck ran out in Princeton where they were defeated by the British. After getting around a British blockade with success, they lost the battle in Princeton.
  • The Southern Campaign: Cowpens & Guilford Courthouse
  • Daniel Morgan's mother
  • Oh! I'm so proud of my Daniel! He won the battle! He won at Cowpens!
  • The Continental Army walked away from the Battle of Saratoga with a major victory that renewed colonists hope and persuaded potential foreign partners that they were not a lost cause.
  • The Battle/Siege of Yorktown
  • During the winter at Valley Forge, men suffered cold, disease and lack of supplies. it was a hard winter for everyone, but it resulted in a well-trained army and a renewed sense of liberty.
  • While the americans did win at the Battle of Cowpens under Daniel Morgan's leadership, they lost at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse with Nathanael Greene. Although they did lose the second of these battles, it led to a battle that would change everything-- Yorktown.
  • Yeah but Mom, they lost at Guilford Courthouse.
  • This battle was basically the battle that ended the war. The colonies were a free country! (Of course they still had to sign the Treaty of Paris but, that comes later).
