  • This is Robert Brown. He is a Scottish Botanist. He discovered the Nucleus in 1828.
  • Robert Hooke found cells under the microscope in 1665. He was looking at a cork and thought cells looked like jail cells and that's how they got their names.
  • Theodore Schwann, a German scientist, discovered all animals are made up of cells in 1839.
  • Matthias Schleiden discovered that all plants are made up of cells in 1838.
  • Rudolph Virchow was a German scientist. He was the first person to state that cells come from other cells in 1858.
  • The cell theory's componets are that cells come from one another, they make up all living things and they are the basic unit of structure anf function.
