I hate this house! There are so many rats and this is the third time this week someone broke in!
Timothy and Debra: Working Class
I know Timmy, but this is all I can afford. But when you get older I want you to have an education so you don't end like me.
Excuse me sir, do you mind helping me learn how to read and write. My mom wants me to be successful in life.
Angelica and Thomas: Middle Class
Of course! It is important to know how to read and write .
Of course! I love helping people in need!
Excuse me, do you have any spare change? I want to help my mom buy a better house.
Nancy and Robert: Wealthy Class
Sorry we don't help the less fortunate.
Go apply for a job! You don't need to be taking our money!
Timothy is embarrassed to be wearing the same clothes and notices that his friends buy new clothes every week. He is also embarrassed to be living in his house. Debra is trying to do everything she can to support her son but cant afford a nice house. They are stuck in their bad neighborhood with lots of crime, bad sanitation, and small house.
Timothy goes across town to try and find someone that will teach him how to read and write. He comes across Angelica and Thomas, they often give back to society by helping the working class learn how to read and write so that in the future they could get jobs.
After being tutored for an hour, Timothy goes to see if anyone has money they are willing to give. He goes to Nancy and Roberts house, they are apart of the wealthy class. They look down on anyone not in the upper class. They are shocked when they see people trying to help the working class succeed in life. they believe in Social Darwinism, the strongest will live and prosper and the weak will fall back and die.
