  • Ronald Adams is saying goodbye to his mother.  Before he goes driving around the country for 6 days he gives her a kiss. He promises her that he will be careful and won´t pick up any hitchhikers on the way.
  • Rising Action
  • Ronald Adams is  not very far in his journey when he passes the Brooklyn Bridge. On the bridge a hitchhiker is in the middle of the road trying to cross. Adams swerves out the way trying to ignore hitting the hitchhiker.
  • Climax
  • Adams is driving down the Pennsylvania Turnpike when he sees the same hitchhiker on the road when he was passing. The hitchhiker is very thin and has a suitcase by his side. Every single time Adams passes the hitchhiker nothing changes about him he just appears at different spots. 
  • Resolution
  • Adams is driving down the road when he keeps seeing the hitchhiker, up ahead he noticed a girl, she was standing on the side of the road. Adams let her in the car and started to drive. Adams told her about the mysterious man that kept appearing on the side of the road, and that he wanted to take him down. He ends up running into a barbed wire fence trying to hit the man.
  • Adams decides to call his mom because he wants to talk to someone he loves. He thinks talking to his mother will comfort him. When he calls his moms number someone strange answers the phone, he asks to speak to his mother.
  • When the strange persons says that his mom is in the hospital because her oldest son died, Adams was confused. His mother had a nervous break down and was now in the hospital. The strange person said that her oldest son died from falling off the Brooklyn Bridge.
