  • Ahhhhhhhh!!!
  • I decided to be voyageur because my dad and I had an argument. It was that I wasn't "strong enough" to do a real mans work since he was a voyageur to. I'm leaving behind my mother, father,my little brother Sean, and my dog McKinley. I'm Paul by the way.
  • Yes sir! Isn't this fun Paul!
  • Pull those paddles you little ladies! John get the kettle and scoop this water out!
  • I really regret that I said I could be a voyageur. My back, my arms, and hands are really sore. My hands have blisters that popped open and I have a pounding headache. I really miss my little brother, my mom, and even my dad. My crew mates aren't as bad as I thought they would be. We sing and laugh, they aren't mean at all witch I'm happy with.
  • When we came upon some rapids, we decided to portage instead of going through them. I only had to carry one of them since it was my first portage. It was like carrying my dog on my back for three miles! I didn´t know this before but there is another kid on my canoe. His name is John. My back is so sore and my legs feel like jelly!
  • Bye!
  • I thought I would never see waves this big on Huron! It was so scary,I thought I would fly out of the canoe ever time we went into the air! Our canoe was filled with water by the time we stopped. A couple of times I herd a cracking nose when we landed after going in the air,but our canoe held up! My friend John thought it was fun while I was screaming like my little brother! My blisters did not like that, they sting now!
  • We finally made it to Grand Portage! We traveled for like a million miles. Night time came and there was singing, dancing, and stories, also a lot of laughing, but didn't do any of it.I guess I'm just a little homesick.I sat by the fire and had some deer and watched the other voyageurs have fun. I forgot about my hands for a while. There was a large feast at Grand Portage and the trading posts are that big.
  • Now that all the paddling is done I decided to stay here during the winter and hunt. We said our goodbyes and headed off. We have three dogs to pull our sled with the packs on it. "It's going to be a hold long winter Paul! You sure you want to come with?" everybody kept telling me that. I will for sure do this again. It's actually really fun!
