  • The Berlin Airlift
  • The Red Scare was a time where the people were afraid of anyone who might side with the communists. Joe McCarthy used intimidation and gossip to see if anyone was a communist spy.
  • The Berlin Wall
  • Nasa played a big toll in WWII by creating Sputnik. Sputnik was the first artificial satellite. Sputnik was launched in October of 1957. Sputnik was the start of new politics, military, technological advancements, and scientific development.
  • The Marshall Plan
  • The Berlin Airlift was the act of help towards Berlin when the US sent supplies. The Iron Curtain blocked supplies from the road and railroad so the US flew supplies in and dropped them from overhead. Germany divided into 4 zones controlled by Great Britain, France, US, and Soviet Union which caused the US to need to fly in supplies.
  • The Berlin Wall was to keep western "fascists" from entering East Germany and undermining the socialist states. The walls concrete blocks were 12 feet tall x 4 feet wide topped in barbwire. Booby traps and soft sand were at the bottom at the wall to stop attempted crossers.
  • The Marshall Plan was an American aid to Europe to help rebuild after WWII. The US gave over $13 billion in assistance to rebuild. Sixteen nations were assisted under the Marshall Plan. Food, staples, fuel, and machinery was given to help recover the economy.
