  • The Berlin wall
  • The Marshall Plan
  • The Arms Race
  • The purpose of this wall was to separate east and west berlin. this was during the cold war with the U.S.S.R. the eastern side was controlled by the soviets and the western by the allies.
  • The Berlin Airlift
  • England, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Belgium were in need of assistance from the United States.  direct financial aid, food, fuel and machinery were given by the United States.
  • The Red Scare
  • The arms race was between the United States and the Soviet Union. Both countries were trying to increase their nuclear stockpile of weapons. this race intimidated people into building the world's first bomb shelters 
  • NASA
  • Germany was split into four different zones, the west side of berlin was controlled by the allied forces, while the east side was controlled by the Soviets. the Soviet Union put blockades up including the construction of the berlin wall. the only way the allies could bring relief to the german people was to send airdrops.
  • The red scare was during the start of the cold war. this was when senator MCCarthy was accusing people of being communist in the United States. 
  • NASA launched the world's first artificial satellite called Sputnik during the cold war. this launch was a major puzzle piece in ending the cold war.
