One day a long time ago, the son of King Minos of Crete played sports and he got terribly hurt with the playful disease. In return, King Minos, his father said that Aegeus would have to send 14 little Athenians to play with the hairy, Minotaur in a playhouse called the labyrinth.
"That is not fair," said Theseus, son of Aegeus, "None of those kids actually wants to play with him!"
"No, Theseus. You can't go tell the minotaur that he is being mean because the king will be very mad at you," said Aegeus.
Theseus decided to break his father's rules and go to Crete with the other Athenians, so that he can tell the minotaur no on wanted to play with him because he was so mean. Aegeus hugged Theseus, and then Theseus boarded the ship.
When Theseus and the other Athenians got to Crete King Minos led them to where they will have a sleepover before they play with the Minotaur the next morning. During the night, King Minos's daughter, Ariadne, came to give Theseus a toy to play with the Minotaur with.
When the Athenians woke up in the morning some of them were picked to play with the Minotaur, but first Theseus went. He went into the labyrinth to go play with the Minotaur, but the Minotaur was very mean to all the kids and they didn't want to play with him anymore.
Another day, Theseus went to the Minotaur and told him that none of the other kids wanted to play with him because he was being too mean to them. After that day, the boy named Minotaur was never mean to anyone ever again and became friends with all of the kids.
