The primary goal of THe Marshall Plan was an American initiative to aid Western Europe. There were 16 countries assisted under The Marshall Plan. Europe received nearly $13 billion in aid and food, staples, fuel, and machinery.
The Berlin Wall
The red scare was caused because people were scared of anyone who may side with the communists and help the Soviets get secret information about the United States. Joe McCarthy was a senator and used intimidation and gossip to get information.
Germany was divided after World War II into four zones, Great Britain, France, Berlin, and United States. The Soviet Union blocked access to Berlin so it could fall under their control. The United States and Great Britain flew in food and supplies when they found out about the blockade.
The Korean War Part 1
The Berlin Wall was built to keep Western "fascists" from entering East Germany and undermining the socialist state. The wall stood until November 9, 1989. It was fortified concrete and wire barrier.
Sputnik was the worlds first artificial satellite. It launched on October 4, 1957
America's foreign policy was centered on the "containment of communism" after World War II. The war broke out along the 38th parallel on June 25, 1950. The Soviet Union expanded an atomic bomb in 1949, ending the US monopoly on the weapon.
