Storyboard Text

  • Negotiating with Stalin
  • Protect us!
  • Form an alliance with us against Germany!
  • I'm not sure because the Western is against communism...
  • Nazi-Soviet Pact
  • We will not attack each other and stay neutral in war.
  • Deal.
  • I hope Hitler is distracted by Western events...
  • Hitler's Military Advantage
  • Now I have a huge military advantage!
  • The British (red suit) and French (navy suit) wanted help from the Soviet Union (green suit) to help protect German attacks, however the Soviet Union was skeptical because the Western democracies were against communism.
  • Stalin and Hitler made the German-soviet nonaggression pact which said that they could not attack each other and they had to stay neutral when the other went to war.
  • Stalin hoped to distract Hitler and prevent an attack on the Soviet Union by directing his attention to the West. Afterwards this gave Hitler a big military advantage.
