  • On July 14th, the people of France thought the Foreign Troops were coming to murder French Citizens. The Third Estate stormed the Bastille, or French prison, and stole weapons and gunpowder. The Bastille was a symbol of absolute despotism, them attacking the Bastille was like them attacking the monarchy.
  • Everyone, charge! We must break in and revolt!
  • The rebellion was spreading through France during the Great Fear. The peasants used violence and revolting as a response to the feudal dues.
  • We have to revolt.
  • During the March on Versailles, the Parisian women started to riot over the rising price of bread. Mobs march to the palace and demand Louis and Marie come to Paris and fix all of France's problems.
  • We must get Marie Antoinette!
