The Narrator loves animals, especially cats. His most loved animal is his cat Pluto.
WHY ARE YOU AVOIDING ME!?!? I HAVE SHOWN YOU SO MUCH LOVE!
The Narrator had become an alcoholic and his cat Pluto started going to his wife more.
I am sorry Pluto, but I must put you out of your misery.
The Narrator could not bear what he had done to Pluto, so he hung him on a tree.
That night, the house had burned down, but one wall stood with an imprint of a cat with a noose on it's neck.
The Narrator got a new cat, this one exactly like Pluto, but with a white noose shaped mark on it's neck
One day, the new cat got in the Narrator's way entering the cellar. In result, the Narrator swung at it with an axe, trying to kill it.
His wife caught the axe, so he rose the axe again and killed her instead
The Narrator took down the bricks for the fireplace and hid the body behind, stacking the bricks back afterwards.
4 days later, police came to investigate the house. The police found nothing, and as they were leaving, the Narrator felt the need to tap the wall, but he did not know the cat was behind there, and the cat meowed...
The police came back down and tracked where the meows were coming from, and took down the wall to see the cat eating the wife
