- Gunpowder consists of charcoal, saltpetre (potassium nitrate), and sulfur.
- Gunpowder is used when an external source of heat is applied to it, the sulfur is burned, then the charcoal inside of it is burned.
- This makes it so hot gasses are released and the action of that causes a lot of energy to be released outward.
- Gunpowder's impact on society was because it became the basis for most ranged warfare weapons, affecting the course of warfare forever.
- It has also affected modern culture, by their festivities having fireworks as a main attraction, which uses gunpowder to lift off and explode.
- Also, it has affected science by giving the Ancient Chinese a basic knowledge about chemistry and physics.
- Gunpowder was created by accident, by a person from Ancient China messing around with saltpeter and decided to add charcoal to it, making the first gunpowder.
