The First Continental Congress was a meeting of people across the colonies who talked about local problems. They decided to boycott British Goods and sent a formal letter to King George saying to repeal the taxes. Their meetings and decisions played a major part in the fight for independence.
Militias across the 13 colonies formed in preperation for battle. Red Coats were trying to take away these weapons. After the shot heard 'round the world the Militia in Lexington was forced to retreat. On the Red Coats way to Concord, the Red Coats were overwhelmed by Minutemen, proving to Birtain that the colonies were willing to fight for their rights.
