Siddhartha Gautama was born in 563 b.c. He was born into wealth because his father was a king of Nepal, a country by India and China. The father went to a fortuneteller and he said Siddhartha was either going to be a king or a religious leader.

Since the fortuneteller said he might be a religious leader, the king protected him from sadness, sickness, death, and homelessness. For almost his whole life he was protected. Even when he had a wife and son.
I'm the Bodhi Tree
Siddhartha was 29 and still had no idea of bad things. Then he went out of the palace unsupervised and saw these things. He saw the sickness, he saw the hungry. All of these things his father did not want him to see.
After he saw all of those things, he left the palace and tried to find the truth that his father failed to tell him. So he set off in the forest and finds the Hindu Guru's. They teached him the Hindu answers they found.
Then he went to a tree, which became the Bodhi Tree, and meditated for 49 days. Then saw his passed lives, and all the suffering, but most importantly the truth. He had become enlightened,
After he became enlightened, he was in search for people who would follow him. Then when he had gathered enough followers, Buddha started to create rules like the Eightfold Path, The Middle Way, or the Four Noble Truths. After this, He created Monasteries, which held Monk's and Nuns's. Today people still believe in the religion Buddhism all over India and in Asia.
