Pearl Harbor, Hawaii & the Surprise Attack
During World War 2 Japan invaded countries to try and equal their rule with other empires in Europe. They invaded many countries such as China, the Soviet Union, and Inda.
The United States and Britain Declare War on Japan
Once Japan joined the Axis Powers, American civilians and military power stationed in China endured provocative attacks and interferences with their rights and interests. This led to Roosevelt to slowly cutting off each of the resources going to Japan, till finally Great Britain and the Netherlands did as well.
FDR/"Date which will live in infamy"
Pearl Harbor was the attack on Hawaii from Japan, that most people didn't see coming. Japan planned to attack and destroy the US Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor was their only threat and set out to neutralize the fleet. They, fortunately, didn't attack the most valuable or important in the naval fleet, which was the aircraft carriers.
Troops Set Up Around Hawaii
On December 8th, 1941 President Roosevelt asked Congress and received permission to declare war on the Empire of Japan. Third occurred an hour after FDR gave his Infamy Speech about the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Infamy Speech was given by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the day following after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He talks about December 7th, 1941 being known as the day where an evil, and upsetting event occurred.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, the Army anticipated the Japanese may land on Hawaii, so army troops were set at positions around the main islands of Hawaii.
