  • The rise of jazz coincided with the rise of radio broadcast and recording technology, which spawned the popular  shows that included big-band jazz performances. The birth of jazz music is credited to African Americans, but both black and white Americans alike are responsible for its immense rise in popularity.

  • Women's fashions of the 1920s are a large part of the Jazz Age identity.the short skirts and bold make up of the flapper did not rule the fashion of the day but were an iconic and memorable look.the availability of the sewing machine meant that women could easily make fashionable clothing at home so that high fashion was no longer restricted to the elite.

  • in the 1920s Illegal liquor traffic is what led to the wealth of gangsters, Controlled speakeasies(secret bars) Controlled private systems(bootleggers). Prez harding did little to interfere with the gangster activities
