The Exposition is when Brady and his friends see "Mr DiAngelo" in the Corisca River using the kayak. This is the exposition because this is where the whole story began, and as well as it introduced te characters and a setting to the story.
The Rising Action is when Brady gets told to help find Ben and Mrs. DiAngelo and finds Ben while he is searching. This is the Rising Action because it builds up to the real shock of the story.
The Climax is when Brady finds out that J.T. and Digger played a part in Ben's death by drilling holes into the kayak. This is the Climax because this was the real shock of the whole entire story, to find out someone so close to Brady would do such a thing as kill a child.
The Falling Action is when Brady went to is Cousins' house to get away from Mrs. DiAngelo. He did this because of him finding out that someone so close to him did those actions just makes him want to run away.
The Conclusion is when J.T. and Digger are found guilty and are sent to a forestry camp. This is the Conclusion because it shows the last main event in the story.
The theme is think before you do, because in the text J.T. and Digger drilled holes into the kayak and did not think. Therefore leading toward an unexpected death of a little child who couldn't even grow up.
