  • The Acadians made an agreement that they will stay neutral and not take the side of the British nor the French
  • We will stay neutral.
  • What if the Acadians take the side of the French?
  • Tensions started to grow between the British and the Acadians.
  • Yes, they are from France after all.
  • In 1755, Governor Charles Lawrence demanded that the Acadians sign an oath of allegiance.
  • If a war happens  between the French and the British, you will not take a side. You will sign an oath of allegiance.
  • The Acadians disagreed, so Britain ordered the expulsions of the acadians.
  • No!!!!
  • The houses of the Acadians were burnt.
  • Some of the Acadians were sent to Boston, some were sent to Louisiana, some were sent back to France and some stayed with the Mi'kmaq.  A lot of them also got sick or passed away.
