- The reason that all of this happened is the change in currency the Indian government put in 2017.They demonetized the 1000 and 500 rupee notes and brought new 2000 and 500 notes to reduce black money. But they also cause a lot of trouble all across India as these notes were not getting into people's hands quickly. Long lines were at the banks, while the banks ran out of the new notes to give to people. As the 500 and 1000 rupee notes were useless, people's businesses were closing, people didn't have the money to support their families, and overall made the lives of the poor lot worst, In the end, it was concluded that this campaign was a failure, and the troubles people had was for nothing.
