Storyboard Text

  • In 1816, James Monroe was elected as president and believed that because the federalist party died, there was no need for parties and republicans would represent the whole country. Thus the era of good feelings has begun.
  • We feel we are not a party; we are the whole!
  • As the era continued, many people started moving westward and others started building factories and job opportunities, this was known as the industrial revolution and westward expansion.
  • Near 1825, the West, North, and South, had their own plans and soon enough broke apart to their own federal systems and the era of good feelings ended. Later, Andrew Jackson was elected president and the republican reign ended.
