Several parents, many of them famous celebrities, wanted their children to get into good colleges.
Ha-ha, no one will ever know!
They decided to enlist William Rick Singer, a well-known college counselor, for help. They gave him large amounts of money so he could help their kids go to college.
You are all GUILTY!
He not only used money to fraudulently inflate the students' test scores and bribe college officials...
I have no idea what anyone here is talking about!
...But he also managed to Photoshop the kids' faces into pictures of different students playing sports so they could get extra credentials for playing sports.
After the scheme was found out, a total of 50 people were charged with conspiracy to commit felony mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.
Out of the 33 parents who were involved in the scandal, only 13 of them had agreed to plead guilty. Some of the other parents, such as Lori Loughlin, have decided to plead not guilty by claiming to not know what she was doing was illegal.
