Chapter Two: The Hall of Dreams
Conner Bailey is offered a trip to Germany through his school by his principal to hear the first reading of three new Brothers Grimm fairy tales. His parents allow him to go if he pays for half of the trip and he is excited to leave. He talks to his twin sister, Alex, about it through their magic mirror that connects their two different dimensions together.
Chapter Three: The Book Huggers
Alex Bailey is now living full time in the fairy tale world. Her grandmother is currently training her to become the next fairy godmother, and Alex goes around the land with her unicorn, Cornelius, granting people's wishes. Not everyone is grateful for her efforts though. She soon meets a boy named Rook, who she immediately attracted to.
Chapter Four: A Wedding in the Woods
When Alex goes to her grandmother's lesson for the day, she tells her grandmother of the wishes she attempted to grant. Her grandmother explains that some people don't want help with their dreams. She shows Alex The Hall of Dreams, which is filled with all the wishes in the world that Alex could help grant.
Conner is on his flight to Germany. A group of girls called The Book Huggers ask him about Alex's whereabouts. Alex's cover-up story is that she is in Vermont with her grandmother, but the girls suspect that that is not true. Conner sits next to his crush, Bree Campbell, who is beginning to suspect his crush on her.
Mother Goose informs Alex that her fugitive friends, Jack and Goldilocks, are getting married. Alex runs into Rook again and agrees to go on a walk with him the next evening. She goes to the wedding and talks about Rook to her friend, Queen Red Riding Hood.
