  • "Yes, I'm tired"
  • "Tired Darling?"
  • "This is going to be a bit of a shock to you i'm afraid. But I've decided that the only thing to do is tell you right away. I hope you wont blame me to much."
  • "I'll get the supper."
  • This is the opening scene that we picture in Lamb to the Slaughter. Here we are introduced to Mr. Maloney and Mary Maloney. In this scene, Mr. Maloney and his wife were having a drink together. (Dahl # Line 8,9)
  • "So I've killed him"
  • In this scene, we find out that Mr. Maloney has some bad news for his wife. We predict so far that he is telling her, that he is divorcing her. (Dahl Line# 33,38)
  • In this scene, Mary goes to the basement and grabs a frozen leg of lamb. This is supposedly a "dinner" but turns into a murder weapon.
  • "Haha.."
  • "The weapon is probably right under out noses"
  • The climax of the story is when Mary kills her husband. She smacks him on the head with the frozen leg of lamb, and then he collapses. She then puts the lamb in the oven. (Dahl Line # 47)
  • This scene is when Mary calls the police after she comes home from the grocery store pretending she walked in on his body. By going to the store she created an alibi. The officers determine that he was smacked on the head. They search the house.
  • Mrs Maloney, eventually convinces the police officers to eat the lamb she put in the oven. Little do the police officers know, the lamb they eat is actually the murder weapon. They are eating there only key to solving this case. (Dahl Line # 133,134.)
