The Persian War was a battle between the Persians and the Greeks, mainly the Athenians and Spartans, which lasted roughly 20 years, with a ten year break. It started when the growing Greeks and the Growing Persians both wanted the land of Ionia. When the Persians taxed the Ionians, the Greeks helped them revolt. The Persians wanted revenge on the Greeks.

The Battle of Salamis was a naval battle between the Persians and the Athenians in 479. The Athenians had faster and smaller boats that could puncture the other boats. They could also navigate the narrow waterways easier. The Persians lost, and King Xerxes left on his own after.

The Delian League is a group of allied city-states led by Athens. Other city-states didn't join, such as Sparta.
