  • It is time! We have waited too long!
  • I can't win. Nothing is fair...I guess I have to take the consequences though like we all promised
  • This is an example of when non-violent protests went wrong and police officers would hurt people. MLK described it as "when hate-filled policemen curse, kick, brutalize, and even kill your brothers."
  • This is an example of when MLK was getting ready to start a peaceful protest against injustice. MLK once said "Justice too long delayed is justice denied."
  • This is a prime example of how the black community was treated poorly and how they were sent to jail for no reason. MLK says "the normal and healthy discontent can be channeled through the creative outlet of nonviolent direct action." He's saying that even though we are being sent to prison (as he was) and being harassed that the black community needs to stick together and stay nonviolent.
