  • As the years go by during and after the Gold Rush, California and specifically San Francisco starts to become a boom town. This causes California to have a rapid increase in population and allows for more immigrants to come from all over the world and help California expand. From the years 1848-1860, the population in San Francisco alone increased from to 850 to 56,802 people
  • Welcome to The Golden State
  • Effect: The Gold Rush that occurred in 1849, majorly shaped the beautiful city of San Francisco into what it is today. The gorgeous golden state, allowed for agriculture, trade, and shipping to grow along with it's population. San Francisco would not be the major, diverse, fast pace city it is today if it weren't for the gold rush that started almost 171 years ago.
