  •  the demolition team checked if there were explosives under the bridge. a one-legged  man helped lynda
  • DAY TWO   Monday, March 22 Goal: Rosa Steele's store
  • 
  • "it would destroy me" i offer to give my life for you 
  • astonished Lynda ran away. what kind of person would i be if i let him die for me?
  • 
  • they'd be nearing brown chapel their main goal only 30 miles away
  • we are almost there! keep pushing
  • the helicopters circled protectively as the marchers entered the gloomy swamp  crossing soapstone creek safely 
  • 
  • as people ate dinner and settled down for a second night on the ground  the medical team busily treated exhausted marchers with blistered feet
  • 
  • Day four  Wednesday March 24     goal:city of saint Jude 
  • some white were even marching with the African Americans and so they got closer and closer to the brown chapel they even started singing again.
  • as soon as the marchers left Lowndes county they hurried back to Selma before they had conflict with mean whites  everyone was welcome to join then hundreds of people waiting on the grounds of the carver homes 
  •

  • everyone wore the orange vests as a sign of freedom and they kept marching on as a symbol of peace and eventually arrived at the black chapel
