  • Expostiton
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • The narrator says how he is stronger with all his senses especially his hearing. He starts to become obsessed with the old man's eye and thinks he needs to get rid of it forever.
  • Climax
  • The Narrator moves into the man's house and he starts to fixate more on his eye that resembles the eye of a vulture.
  • Falling Action
  • He then watched the old man sleep and started to plan the murder.
  • Resolution
  • He goes to the old man's room and pulls the sheets over his head and strangles him until ha can't hear the loud beating of the old man's heart in his ear.
  • The police were called because the neighbors heard some suspicious things. He welcomed them in as if he had nothing to hide. 
  • The narrator believes he still hears the old man's heart beating that also sounds like a clock ticking and he confessed to the murder of the old man.
