This storyboard does not have a description.
"I squared my shoulders, trying not to show how frightened and timid I really felt, I told myself I had to be like a soldier in a battle" (Pattillo 109)
"because I want to help you" (Link 184)
"But as I listened to Mr. Marshall speak I felt much better. His positive attitude gave me hope that even if I couldn't speak my truth, the scales of justice were weighed on our side." (Patillo 56)
The theme here is overcoming racism or getting through it. In this scene melba is waiting to get to class with danny and a group of boys start kicking her but she stands back up as if it didnt hurt her but it did.
The theme is being against racism. And in this scene link is trying to tell Melba that he wants to help her out by warning her of bad things that are going to be happening because he thinks that this is all wrong
This scene is showing Melba feeling comfortable and it also shows how shes overcoming racism. That is also the theme for this part of the story.
