For years, Vikings would attack villages along the coast in England and Ireland
Run! The Vikings are coming!
Burn the houses!
People thought that they could outsmart the Vikings by moving inland, but the problem with this was that the towns that these people moved to were near rivers, so the Vikings would sail up the river and raid the inland villages.
Ha! The Vikings won't find me here. I'll be safe now.
Not all Vikings were raiders though. Some Vikings would explore and search for lands that they had heard of
